If you are looking for a completely barefoot-friendly race, Scott and Lauren Jones have come up with just that.
The Naked Foot 5K Barefoot Race Series consists of seven races across the United States that are not only barefoot/minimalist shoe friendly, but have partnered with Souls4Soles so you can donate your gently used running shoes that are collecting dust in the back of your closet! The first race series of it’s kind, the races not only feature the 5k, but other barefoot friendly events – an “all grass” 1 miler, a Kids 1K Fun Run, an obstacle course, huarache games, pedicures, foot painting, and prizes!
“Our event is all about being “natural” and promoting green living and an active and healthy lifestyle. After all, what could be more natural then taking off your shoes and running barefoot like we all did when we were kids!?! So besides the 5K we have a variety of different features at the event (including the Tarahumara ball game) and only accept vendors that represent/promote an active/healthy products.” – Lauren Scott
